Yes-U

Programs for Youth

Our Youth Ministry at East Shore empowers each youth to grow in Unitarian Universalist faith through theological questioning, moral development, spiritual exploration and connections to UU community and heritage.

Youth Group

Why Are You, You? And Why Are You, UU?

Open to High Schoolers ages 14-18;
meets on Sundays 6:30 pm -- 8:30 p.m. from September to June.h

East Shore Youth Group is a lively, vibrant community of teens who enjoy sharing life’s many experiences with each other. Youth Group provides exciting events in a warm, nurturing environment for all who wish to participate. We offer a safe and encouraging environment for youth and adults to grow in healthy, trusting relationships. We foster religious growth through multi-generational sharing, playing and learning. The overall program follows the guidelines set forth by the UUA to provide youth with experiences and opportunities in the following categories: worship, learning, fellowship, community service and leadership. The Youth Group activities are planned and implemented by the youth and adult leaders with the guidance of our Youth Programs Coordinator. Each year is a new year for Youth Group; we have a planning retreat in the Fall where we write our covenant and brainstorm ideas for how we want to explore our religious, ethical and spiritual lives with respect and love.

 A criminal history check is required on all of our volunteers who work with children on a regular basis.  These volunteers are also asked to submit three personal references and sign a Code of Ethics.
